Go, Do! 1 Nephi 3:7

Growing up I didn't love Sundays. Church was long and mostly boring and I didn't really understand what was going on. Well now I LOVE Sundays, I love to go to church, feel the spirit and hear teachings of the Book of Mormon and the Bible and to apply them to my life. Today was one of those days that I was able to look back at the decisions that I have made and the person I am today and truly know that I have done what the Lord intended for me to do.
There were a couple of scriptures that made me think about my past. The first being found in the Book of Mormon in 1 Nephi 3:7, "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." Today this scripture made me think the experience I had in the temple to have kids. I had only been married for 6 months, I was running track on scholarship at Weber State University and I was going to school full time. I didn't plan on having kids until after I graduated college and it was a huge sacrifice for me to give up my plan. I didn't know what we were going to do since we would have to pay for two tuitions instead of one and I was worried about the financial situations we would be facing.
But I gave it up and did what the Lord asked me to do and I have NEVER regretted it. I LOVE being a mom. I am still going to school as is my husband but we haven't had to stress about how we were going to pay our tuition. Things have truly worked out and I have been blessed because I did what I was asked to do.
I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The gospel is true and I love that I have it in my life.
